Benefits Over Standard Charger Systems
Guest-Specific Access
You can make sure that only the guest with the URL has the ability to use the charger during their designated time. No other users, including the owner, would be able to charge their vehicles at that time unless they have their own URL.
Time-Limited Usage
The URL can also be set to expire after a certain period (e.g., after the scheduled session ends), ensuring that the charger is no longer available once the guest’s time has passed.
Flexibility and Convenience
Guests won’t need to manually set schedules or deal with complicated access control systems. They simply click the URL to activate the charger during their allowed time.
Prevents Unauthorized Use
Since the URL would be unique and tied to a particular guest or session, it would effectively block anyone else (including other guests or non-registered vehicles) from using the charger without the proper access link.
Built-in Billing Functionality
Existing charger software do not have built-in billing functionality. While you can track energy usage to some extent, there’s no easy way to charge others for using the charger, as you would with an OCPP-enabled system. For that, you’d need additional solutions like an external metering system or a third-party platform.
Advanced Reporting and Analytics
Other chargers might offer basic insights into energy usage but do not provide detailed analytics that might be useful for business owners, such as charge duration, peak usage times, or detailed financial reporting.
